Are you stuck developing a project using end of life PHP? Upgrading from an obsolete version of PHP is scary. You’ve heard how wonderful PHP 7 is, but you’ve no idea how/where to start. Have no fear! I’m here to help! We’ll cover the basics of upgrading PHP itself & updating your code. We’ll get 3rd party libraries out of the codebase into Composer. We’ll get you ready to use namespacing, unit tests, & more. Bring a project that needs attention & we’ll work through issues as time permits.

Tutorial Requirements:

Participants should have to fully experience this workshop:

A copy of some legacy code of their own on their own laptop with a full working PHP environment to run it.

A working Virtual Machine if possible, but if not the course will cover how to create one.
